Danton – Typewriter Cloth Work Shirt – Brown

A classic work shirt, made from Japanese 'Typewriter cloth'. We don't really know what type writer cloth is, but it is 100% cotton and feels like the silk.

The Danton brand was established in 1931 when Gabriel Danton bought shares of a small company called ‘Manufacture Textile du Centre’. Four years later Gabriel reached company director level at MTC and went on to register the DANTON brand along with its red diamond logo.

Based in the heart of Paris, Danton produced French workwear such as overalls, jackets, trousers and work aprons. Throughout the ‘70s and ‘80s Danton supplied uniforms to public workers such as administrators, Metro workers and railway staff. The original factory closed in ’89 but the manufacturing continued in France through the ‘90s and into the millennium.

Today, the Danton brand is developed in Japan by Boy’s Co. LTD. who distribute the brand within Japan and the rest of the world. The present-day collection is made in Japan whilst honouring past traditions and respecting its French heritage.
